John Kaminski Memorial Scholarship Program
The Pennsylvania-Anthracite Section of Society of Mining Engineers / AIME sponsors the John Kaminski Memorial Scholarships for mining-related engineering or science majors for Pennsylvania and New Jersey students living within the boundaries of our Section.
We annually award One (1) $1,000.00 scholarship for a Graduating High School Senior, College, or University Undergraduate scholarship for enrollment and attendance in an engineering or science program related to mining in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or the State of New Jersey.
The Graduating Senior Scholarship is a one-time only grant issued for freshmen attending their first semester in the fall of academic year. The College/University Undergraduate Scholarship is for High School Senior Scholarship winners and current undergraduate students and may be renewed upon application if satisfactory progress (>3.0 GPA) towards an appropriate degree is maintained.

The deadline for consideration for the 2024-25 Scholarships is May 16, 2024.
A check for $1,000 will be presented to the selected students at the Section’s Annual Meeting and Dinner in late June for the fall semester. If available, the students and their parents will be guests of the Society.
